Reminder to renew payment for garden waste collection service

Reminder to renew payment for garden waste collection service

Residents are reminded that they will need to renew - or set up - a subscription to the Borough Council's garden waste collection service by 31 May. The charge this year will be £47.50 per bin, with the service beginning on 1 June 2025.

Residents who pay for the service by direct debit do not need to do anything. The council will collect payment of £47.50 for each garden waste bin from bank accounts on 1 April and send a new sticker by mid-May. New stickers should be put on bins as soon as they are received.

Customers who do not pay by direct debit can renew or set up their subscription from 1 April onwards. It is advised to do this by 16 May at the latest, to avoid disruptions to the service. This will also allow plenty of time for the new stickers to arrive.

The quickest way to pay is by visiting www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/gardenwaste. Payments can be made by credit or debit card.

For those who choose not to subscribe to the service, other options for disposing of garden waste include:

  • Home composting: Garden waste and other material can be recycled. Compost bins can be purchased from www.getcomposting.com
  • Taking garden waste to a Leicestershire County Council Household Waste & Recycling Site, including the site on Stapleton Lane, Barwell.
